What % of newly minted BTC goes into “circulation”?

I’ve come to a legit subreddit to ask a genuine question that’s come up.

In trying to better understand the halving, what percent of freshly minted coins are immediately sold into circulation (vs held by the miners)? Is this even a fair question?

Any guidance on how to approach this question or if the trend data already exists… or if this isn’t even the right question to ask….
