Zapper Alternatives: 5 Best Free Crypto Portfolio Trackers in 2026

CoinStats

Cryptocoins News / CoinStats 6 Views

Zapper is gone. Not winding down, not pivoting. Gone.

Visit zapper.xyz today and you get a farewell note. “Thank You For Everything,” it reads, above a purple heart. Under it, three words: “Zapper has shut down.”

That deserves more than a shrug.

Zapper started in 2019 as two side projects. DeFiZap let you enter several protocol positions in one transaction. DeFiSnap tracked what you already held. They merged in May 2020. What they built taught a generation to read their own wallets.

Before Zapper, checking a DeFi portfolio meant a dozen browser tabs. Etherscan for balances. Each protocol’s own dashboard for positions. A spreadsheet to tie it together. Zapper collapsed that into one screen, and it did it for free.

Co-founder Seb Audet put the numbers in his goodbye note. More than two million monthly active users. More than $13 billion in transaction volume at its peak. “It was the journey of a lifetime,” he wrote.

So no, this is not a victory lap. A category does not improve when a tool that defined it closes.

But something has to happen next.

Because two million people just lost their dashboard. Their saved wallet bundles are gone. Their labels are gone. Their transaction history view is gone. Zapper published no export tool and recommended no replacement. A lot of people are starting over with no instructions.

Some of them have a more urgent problem than picking a dashboard. The next section covers it.

That is why searches for Zapper alternatives keep climbing this week.

Here is the uncomfortable part. Much of the advice already published is wrong. We checked every recommendation on August 6, 2026. Live sites, pricing pages, and app store listings. Several widely recommended replacements do not exist anymore, and one never existed at all.

So this guide lists five trackers we confirmed were alive this week. Real pricing, real chain coverage, real gaps. You should leave with a shortlist, not a longer one.

Our bias, up front
We make CoinStats, so yes, we are biased. We know it. So this guide sticks to plain facts: pricing, coverage, and real limits. The verdict is yours.
Quick verdict
Zapper shut down on August 3, 2026. Its website, mobile apps, and API all went offline the same day. The tracker was never custodial. Your funds were never at risk from the shutdown. Zapper Wallet users are the exception, and they need to act.

What happened to Zapper

Seb Audet announced the wind-down on July 8, 2026. The shutdown executed on August 3.

The farewell note on zapper.xyz is direct about scope. “As of August 3, 2026, Zapper’s products and services have shut down. This includes the Zapper web and mobile applications, as well as the Zapper API.”

Audet gave no single cause. He wrote that the team evaluated its options carefully. It “pursued some to the fullest extent possible.” His summary was blunter. “At the end of the day, the market decides.”

Zapper raised roughly $16.5 million across two disclosed rounds. Framework Ventures co-led the seed and led the Series A. That 2021 round included Mark Cuban and Sound Ventures. Funding was never the constraint.

What matters more for you is what the shutdown did and did not touch.

Not at risk
Anything Zapper only watched
Zapper’s tracker was read-only. It watched public addresses and never held the keys. Your tokens, LP positions, and NFTs are exactly where you left them, onchain. You lost the view, not the assets.

Action needed
Anything inside Zapper Wallet
Zapper also shipped an embedded wallet. That is a different situation. If you funded a Zapper Wallet, export your keys through Privy yourself.

Do this first
Zapper’s farewell page carries one line that most coverage missed. It reads: “Former Zapper Wallet users can export their private keys through Privy.” Did you ever fund a Zapper Wallet? Export those keys now. Then move the assets to a wallet you control. This is the only time-sensitive part of the shutdown. Those instructions will not stay up forever.

If you only ever pasted addresses into Zapper to watch them, ignore that box. You need a new dashboard, not a rescue.

One more thing worth knowing. The shutdown is not isolated. Step Finance was a Solana dashboard of similar vintage. It closed in February 2026 after a treasury hack. Pulsar Finance was acquired by Terraform Labs, which filed for bankruptcy months later. Its domain now points at a trading terminal. Standalone portfolio dashboards have had a hard eighteen months.

That history shapes the next section. It is mostly about which tools still stand.

How we picked these five

We started from the lists everyone else published, then checked them.

Four widely recommended Zapper replacements failed the check. We cut all four before writing a word about features. Being alive is the first criterion. It eliminated more candidates than any other test.

Confirmed alive
Loaded the live site, pricing page, and app store listing on August 6, 2026. A domain that still resolves is not proof of life.

Published pricing
Real numbers from the vendor’s own page. Where a price is not public, we say so rather than guess.

Real DeFi positions
Token balances are easy. Resolving LP shares, lending positions, and staking is the job Zapper actually did.

Chain honesty
Counted which ecosystems each tool covers. EVM-only matters if you hold Solana or Bitcoin.

Where you can use it
Zapper had mobile apps. Several replacements are desktop or browser only, and that is a real downgrade.

How you connect
Read-only addresses, exchange sync, or CSV. If your holdings sit partly on an exchange, this decides everything.

Four names failed step one. They are worth naming so you do not chase them.

Step Finance shut down in late February 2026, after attackers drained roughly 261,854 SOL. Its app subdomain still loads, with a stale copyright footer and no shutdown banner. That is how it keeps appearing in 2026 roundups.

Pulsar Finance was acquired by Terraform Labs in 2023. Terraform filed for Chapter 11 months later. The tracker never came back. Its domain now serves a Solana trading terminal from the same team. A small link recovers old portfolio data.

Sonar Watch was acquired by Jupiter. The domain redirects, the token was burned, and the standalone product is finished. Its successor made our list on its own merits.

DefiLlama Portfolio is the strangest one. It is not a wallet tracker and never was. DefiLlama’s “portfolio” is a saved watchlist of protocols. The address-level tracker in that orbit was LlamaFolio. It is dead, and its domain now serves a gambling site. One article published the day Zapper closed still recommends it.

Comparing the top 5

Pricing first, because no other guide to this shutdown publishes any.

Pricing checked against each vendor’s public pages on August 6, 2026. Octav bills per tracked address per year. Six wallets on its Lite tier costs $894, not $149. Rotki’s Advanced and Custom tiers are not publicly priced. De.Fi runs a Scanner PRO tier whose price appears only inside its signup flow.

Two things fall out of that table.

The billing unit matters more than the headline number. Octav’s $149 looks like the cheapest paid entry until you count your wallets. Zapper users routinely bundled five or ten addresses. That pricing punishes exactly that pattern.

And free is not one thing. Jupiter Portfolio lists no paid tier at all. Rotki’s free tier stops at 1,000 events. An active DeFi user burns through that fast. Those are very different offers wearing the same word.

The 5 best Zapper alternatives

Every tool below was loaded and checked on August 6, 2026. Prices come from vendor pages, not from other listicles.

#1 · BEST OVERALL

CoinStats

Wallets, exchanges, and DeFi positions in one app, on desktop and phone.

CoinStats pulls exchanges, wallets, and DeFi positions into one portfolio. CoinStats has run since 2017 and reports one million users. Access to connected accounts stays read-only.

The part that matters most to a departing Zapper user is scope. Zapper read onchain wallets. CoinStats reads onchain wallets and exchange accounts together. It resolves per-wallet DeFi positions across 10,000+ protocols. If half your stack sits on an exchange, that gap decides everything.

All-in-one crypto portfolio tracker
CoinStats ≈ Zapper + exchanges + Bitcoin + profit and loss + token security + AI agent
+ free to start 😉

Bitcoin support is worth calling out separately. CoinStats tracks Bitcoin alongside EVM chains and Solana. Most DeFi-native dashboards, including several below, do not read Bitcoin at all. If you hold coins outside the EVM world, that gap matters.

Pricing is public and sits at the low end of this list. The free Basic plan covers 10 portfolios and 20,000 transactions. Premium is $13.99 per month billed annually, after a free seven-day trial. That is a 13% saving against paying monthly. Paid plans add analytics, custom alerts, and the AI agent.

Key features
  • Connects 300+ wallets and exchanges, including Binance, Coinbase, MetaMask, and Ledger
  • Tracks DeFi positions across 10,000+ protocols, including lending and liquidity
  • Imports transaction history, then reports realized and unrealized profit or loss
  • Includes a multimodal AI agent on paid plans, plus alerts and analytics
  • Token Risks checks included from the free Basic plan up
  • Bitcoin tracked alongside EVM chains and Solana in one portfolio
  • iOS, Android, and web, with portfolios synced across all three
Pros
  • Pairs exchange connections with onchain tracking in a native mobile app
  • Published price, and the cheapest paid tier on this list
  • Free tier is usable long term, not an evaluation window
  • Reads Bitcoin and Solana alongside EVM chains
Cons
  • Full functionality and the AI agent need a paid plan
  • Free plan caps you at 10 portfolios and 20,000 transactions
  • Tax filing is done via a third party
Best suited for
All-in-one crypto tracking. Exchanges, wallets, and DeFi positions in one portfolio, on desktop and phone.
#2 · WIDEST CHAIN COVERAGE

De.Fi

A multichain dashboard with a security layer bolted on, free to use.

De.Fi is a DeFi portfolio dashboard paired with two security tools. Shield reviews and revokes token approvals. Scanner grades contracts before you interact with them. The dashboard itself is free.

Its chain list is the broadest here, and it is genuinely non-EVM. De.Fi documents 31 blockchains. That includes Bitcoin, Solana, Cardano, Tezos, Dogecoin, and ten Cosmos chains. For anyone whose holdings sprawl past Ethereum, that breadth is hard to match.

We checked whether it was coasting. The page ranking for “Zapper alternative” dates to April 2024. The product is not coasting. De.Fi published development recaps on March 31 and June 3, 2026. It shipped a security report on July 29, and is hiring. The stale page is old SEO furniture, not a dead product.

The catch is delivery. De.Fi is a browser tool with no iOS or Android app. Its paid Scanner PRO tier has no public price.

Key features
  • 31 documented blockchains spanning EVM, Bitcoin, Solana, Cardano, and Cosmos
  • Token approval review and revocation across 10+ chains
  • Contract risk scanning before you sign a transaction
  • Positions grouped as wallet, deposits, claimable, and lending
  • Read-only address tracking with no wallet connection required
Pros
  • Broadest non-EVM coverage of anything on this list
  • Core dashboard and approval revocation cost nothing
  • Security tooling no other tracker here offers
  • Actively shipping through 2026, with public release notes
Cons
  • No mobile app at all, which Zapper users will feel
  • Scanner PRO price appears only inside the signup flow
  • Scanner covers far fewer chains than Shield does
  • Exchange support is limited to seven venues
Best suited for
Desktop users holding assets well outside the EVM world. They get approval hygiene where they check balances.
#3 · BEST FOR PRIVACY AND TAX

Rotki

Open source, runs on your own machine, and produces real tax reports.

Rotki is the outlier here, by design. It is an AGPLv3-licensed desktop application that runs locally. Your data sits in an encrypted database on your machine. Nothing is uploaded to a vendor.

It decodes transactions locally across 17 chains. That list covers the main EVM networks. It adds Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Solana, Polkadot, Kusama, and Hyperliquid. More than 130 DeFi protocols are detected and labeled automatically.

Its real advantage is accounting. Rotki connects to 29 exchanges by API key. It imports CSVs, and reads Bitcoin xpubs. Then it generates profit-and-loss and tax reports. No other tool on this list does tax properly.

Pricing changed recently, so older reviews are wrong. Rotki held its subscription flat for seven years. It moved to tiers in November 2025. Basic is now €25 per month. Advanced and Custom are not publicly priced.

Key features
  • Fully local, open source, and self-hostable via Docker
  • 17 chains including Bitcoin, Solana, Polkadot, and Kusama
  • 29 exchange integrations by read-only API key
  • Real profit-and-loss and tax report generation
  • CSV import from a wide list of exchanges and services
Pros
  • Your data never leaves your machine
  • Open source and auditable, unlike everything else here
  • Strongest tax and accounting features on this list
  • Combines exchanges, onchain wallets, and Bitcoin in one ledger
Cons
  • No mobile app, though Docker self-hosting serves a browser UI
  • Free tier caps history and reports at 1,000 events
  • €25 per month is the priciest monthly plan here
  • Local setup takes more effort than a hosted dashboard
Best suited for
Privacy-focused users who file taxes on their crypto. Running a desktop application must suit you.
#4 · BEST FOR REPORTING

Octav

Read-only portfolio intelligence with AI transaction labeling and NAV reports.

Octav tracks addresses and turns their activity into labeled, exportable financial reports. It is built primarily for treasuries, funds, and DAOs. A free tier serves individuals too.

It is the only tool here with a published Zapper migration guide. That tells you who it is chasing. Its documentation covers migration from several dashboards.

Chain coverage is strong but inconsistently stated. Its homepage says 50+ chains. Its quickstart says 90+, and its reference page says 65+. Solana and Hyperliquid are supported. We found no Bitcoin support in any of its documentation.

Pricing is where individuals should slow down. Octav bills per tracked address per year. Lite is $149 and Pro is $499, both per address. Bundling six wallets the way Zapper users did costs $894 a year on Lite.

Key features
  • AI-assisted transaction tagging and labeling across DeFi
  • PDF and CSV report export with daily portfolio snapshots
  • Cost basis, profit-and-loss calendar, and asset variation reports
  • Read-only address book accepting EVM, Solana, and ENS names
  • Published migration guides, including one for Zapper
Pros
  • Best reporting and export tooling of any tracker here
  • Genuinely free tier for basic portfolio tracking
  • Transaction labeling saves real time on messy DeFi history
  • SOC 2 compliant, which matters for treasury use
Cons
  • Per-address annual billing gets expensive with many wallets
  • Web only, with no mobile app
  • No Bitcoin support found in its documentation
  • Alerts currently run on Ethereum mainnet only
Best suited for
Treasuries, funds, and individuals with few addresses. Best when you need exportable accounting, not a daily dashboard.
#5 · BEST FOR SOLANA

Jupiter Portfolio

Free, deep Solana coverage, and a mobile app that ships updates.

Jupiter Portfolio is the successor to Sonar Watch, which Jupiter acquired in early 2025. If you followed a recommendation to Sonar Watch, this is where it went.

It tracks token balances, DeFi positions, staking, and transaction history across the Solana ecosystem. Jupiter lists 150+ protocols tracked and 270+ services parsed. Viewing a portfolio does not require connecting a wallet. You paste a Solana address.

It is free to use, and Jupiter lists no paid tier for it. Jupiter Mobile on Android was updated on July 15, 2026. Note that Jupiter Mobile is a wallet app, not Portfolio itself.

The limitation is obvious and total. Jupiter Portfolio is Solana only. It is a depth tool, not a Zapper replacement. It works best next to something broader.

Key features
  • 150+ Solana protocols tracked, per Jupiter’s own page
  • Staking, lending, and LP positions alongside plain balances
  • Free to use, with no paid tier listed
  • Read-only viewing without connecting a wallet
  • Reachable on Android through the Jupiter Mobile wallet
Pros
  • Deepest Solana coverage of anything listed here
  • No paid tier listed anywhere on the product
  • Actively maintained mobile app
  • Backed by one of Solana’s largest products
Cons
  • Solana only, so it cannot be your single tracker
  • No exchange sync and no CSV import
  • No tax or accounting export
  • Portfolio is a feature of a trading app, not the main product
Best suited for
Solana-heavy users who want protocol-level depth for free. Pair it with a broader tracker for everything else.

Chain counts taken from each vendor’s own documentation on August 6, 2026. Octav publishes three different chain counts across its own pages. The range is shown as stated, not resolved.

The Bitcoin column is the one people forget. Zapper was an EVM-first tool. Plenty of its users kept Bitcoin somewhere else entirely. If you are consolidating anyway, check that your new tracker reads it.

How to move your tracking

Zapper published no export tool, so this is a rebuild rather than a migration. It takes about fifteen minutes.

1. Deal with Zapper Wallet first, if you used it
Export your private keys through Privy. Then move those assets somewhere you control. Everything else on this list can wait. This cannot.

2. Collect your addresses
Write down every public address you had bundled in Zapper. Check your wallet apps and hardware devices rather than relying on memory. Most people find one or two they had forgotten.

3. Add them read-only to your new tracker
Every tool here accepts a public address with no wallet connection. Paste, do not connect. A tracker never needs signing permission to show you balances.

4. Connect exchanges, if you hold there
Use read-only API keys, and make sure withdrawal permissions are switched off. CoinStats and Rotki both support this. Octav and Jupiter Portfolio do not.

5. Rebuild your labels and check the DeFi positions
Rename wallets so they mean something again. Then compare a few DeFi positions against the protocol’s own interface. Position resolution is where trackers differ most.

6. Revoke anything stale while you are here
A shutdown is a good prompt for approval hygiene. De.Fi Shield does this free across 10+ chains. You do not need it as your dashboard.

Which one should you pick?

Pick by what you actually hold, not by what ranks first.

You want one app for everything
CoinStats. Wallets, exchanges, DeFi, and Bitcoin in one place. Phone and desktop, with a free tier that lasts.

Your assets are scattered far past EVM
De.Fi. Bitcoin, Cardano, Tezos, and ten Cosmos chains in one free dashboard, plus approval revocation.

You care most about privacy
Rotki. Open source, runs locally, and nothing leaves your machine. Accept that there is no mobile app.

You file taxes on this
Rotki. It is the only tool here that generates tax reports itself. CoinStats exports transactions for a tax tool.

You manage a treasury or fund
Octav. NAV snapshots, labeled transactions, and PDF exports. Best when your address count stays small.

You live on Solana
Jupiter Portfolio, free, for protocol depth. Pair it with a broader tracker for everything off Solana.

The short version

Zapper mattered. It taught a lot of people to read their own onchain positions. It did that for seven years, free. Its closing is a real loss to the category.

What replaces it depends on what you hold. Do your assets sit across wallets and exchanges? CoinStats is the closest straight swap. If you range far past EVM chains on desktop, De.Fi is free and broad. If privacy and tax reporting drive the decision, Rotki runs on your own machine. If you manage a treasury with a handful of addresses, Octav reports well. If you live on Solana, Jupiter Portfolio is free and deep.

Whatever you choose, do two things this week. Export your Zapper Wallet keys if you ever funded one. And verify a tool is still alive before trusting any article, including this one.

Frequently asked questions about Zapper alternatives

Quick answers to common questions about Zapper alternatives.

Is Zapper really shut down?

Yes. Zapper shut down on August 3, 2026. Visiting zapper.xyz now returns a farewell notice reading “Zapper has shut down.” The notice confirms the website, mobile apps, and API went offline that date.

What happened to Zapper and why did it shut down?

Co-founder and CEO Seb Audet announced the wind-down on July 8, 2026. Zapper had run nearly seven years. He gave no single cause. The team evaluated its options and chose an orderly wind down. His closing summary was “At the end of the day, the market decides.” Commentators point to the difficulty of monetizing free dashboards. That is analysis, not a company statement.

Can I still access zapper.xyz or the Zapper mobile app?

No. The web app, mobile apps, and API were switched off on August 3, 2026. The domain still loads, but it serves only a static goodbye message. There is no read-only or grace-period access.

Which Zapper alternatives are actually still alive in 2026?

Check before you trust a recommendation. Several widely suggested replacements are dead. Step Finance shut down in February 2026 after a treasury hack. Pulsar Finance was acquired by Terraform Labs and now serves a trading terminal. Sonar Watch was absorbed by Jupiter. DefiLlama has no wallet portfolio tracker at all. Every tool in this guide was loaded and verified on August 6, 2026.

Are my funds at risk now that Zapper has shut down?

For most people, no. Zapper’s tracker was read-only and never held your keys or your assets. Your tokens and positions remain onchain exactly where they were. You lost the interface, not the assets. There is one exception. If you funded a Zapper Wallet, export your keys through Privy. Then move those assets to a wallet you control.

What happened to my Zapper data, labels, and wallet bundles?

They are gone. Zapper did not publish a bulk export tool. Coverage of the shutdown noted the missing guidance for users. Your saved bundles, labels, and historical views were stored by Zapper, not onchain. They went offline with the product. Rebuilding them in a new tracker takes about fifteen minutes.

Is it safe to connect my wallet to a portfolio tracker?

You usually do not need to. Every tracker here reads a public address without a wallet connection. That is the safest way. Pasting an address grants no permissions at all. If a tracker offers exchange sync, use read-only API keys and disable withdrawal permissions. Treat any tracker demanding a signature just to show balances with suspicion.

What is the best Zapper alternative in 2026?

It depends on what you hold. CoinStats is the closest single replacement. It covers onchain wallets, exchanges, DeFi positions, and Bitcoin, on mobile and desktop. De.Fi is the best free option for very broad non-EVM coverage. Rotki suits privacy-focused users who need tax reports. Jupiter Portfolio is the strongest Solana-only choice.

Is there a free Zapper alternative?

Yes, several. Jupiter Portfolio is free, with no paid tier listed. De.Fi’s dashboard and approval revocation cost nothing. CoinStats has a free tier covering 10 portfolios and 20,000 transactions. Rotki is free but caps history and reports at 1,000 events. Active DeFi users pass that quickly.

Which Zapper alternative tracks DeFi positions like LPs, staking, and lending?

All five do, with different depth. CoinStats resolves per-wallet positions across 10,000+ protocols. Rotki decodes more than 130 protocols locally. Jupiter Portfolio lists 150+ Solana protocols. De.Fi groups holdings into deposits, claimable, and lending buckets. Octav labels positions and focuses on turning them into reports.

Does anything replace Zapper’s mobile app?

Fewer options than you would expect. CoinStats ships iOS and Android apps with portfolios synced to the web. Jupiter Mobile, a wallet app, covers Solana and was updated in July 2026. De.Fi, Octav, and Rotki have no mobile app. Rotki reaches a phone browser if you self-host via Docker.

How do I move my wallet tracking from Zapper to another tool?

Collect every public address you had bundled. Paste them into your new tracker as read-only. No tool on this list requires a wallet connection to display balances. Connect exchanges separately with read-only API keys if you hold there. Then rebuild your labels. Spot-check a few DeFi positions against each protocol’s own interface.

Which Zapper alternatives support Solana and non-EVM chains?

De.Fi has the widest non-EVM reach, with 31 documented blockchains. Those include Bitcoin, Solana, Cardano, Tezos, and Cosmos. CoinStats covers 120+ blockchains including Bitcoin and Solana. Rotki supports Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Solana, Polkadot, and Kusama. Jupiter Portfolio is Solana only. Octav supports Solana but documents no Bitcoin support.

Can I track centralized exchanges alongside my wallets?

Only some tools do this, and it is a real dividing line. CoinStats connects 300+ wallets and exchanges. Rotki connects to 29 by API key. De.Fi lists seven. Octav and Jupiter Portfolio are onchain only, so exchange balances stay invisible. Zapper was onchain only too. This may be an upgrade, not a like-for-like swap.
